River of Tears - Cambodian women
Project Hannah healing a river of tears…
A river of tears flows throughout this world. Tears of deep pain, shame and hopelessness. Tears shed by millions of women worldwide as they face abuse and persecution. In many cultures, these women are unloved from the moment they are born.
They cry out, “Am I valuable to somebody?”
Project Hannah exists to answer this question with the message of hope brought by Jesus Christ.
For you have rescued my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling. Psalms 116:8
A voice of hope for Cambodia.
Cambodia is a country ravaged by war. First, the brutal regime of Pol Pot brought terrible suffering to the Khmer people, with 2 million mothers, fathers and children executed or starved.
No family was left untouched.
Yet even after this war ended, a second war is fought today against disease, poverty, landmines and despair. It is estimated 74% of the surviving population suffer post-traumatic stress. Dengue and famine take the lives of thousands of children each year. Cambodia has the highest child mortality rate in Asia.
For every 100 babies born, nine mothers weep. It is into this devestation and despair that TWR brings a message of Christ’s love.
Project Hannah’s radio program is broadcast across this country, reaching into every village and touching the lives of countless women.
Offering compassion. Stemmming tears. Bringing hope.
