Prayer point for the month

Orissa in India is a hotbed of conflict! People are dying. Lives are under threat! All of this caused by evil inflamed by religious hatred.

Christians in Orissa are at the cutting edge of Christian faith. Jesus said,“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven!” 

Please pray that Christians in Orissa who are being persecuted and murdered will only suffer for righteousness sake. Pray that a profound number of Christians in Orissa are behaving as Jesus calls us to behave. Jesus said, “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive you your trespasses.”

What a terrible ordeal for Christians to bear! Where, in the face of persecution and murder, our Christian brothers and sisters are called upon to love their Hindu brothers and sisters… many of whom would murder them.

At times, Jesus’ mission to regain control of the world and redeem it for eternity, places his followers in very difficult circumstances. But he will not let those Christians in Orissa down! He is with them! Let them wait patiently upon the Lord.

Pray also that they will be courageous, persistent in the faith, and prayerful witout ceasing. Pray that they will show incredible joy despite the circumstances. And inner peace! And kindness, goodness, faithfulness, tenderness and self-control. Jesus is depending upon them. Let them be an inspiration to us.
